President

Shannon Kelly

After a super fantastic year as Director of Finance, Shannon Kelly is excited to be taking the next step in her Junior Farmer career - taking on the role of JFAO President from James McMillan of the Wentworth club. With a BSc in Life Sciences from McMaster Univeristy under her belt, Shannon is now continuing her education at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, and she hopes one day to work as a Doctor of Chiropractic in a rural community. While Shannon grew up in a small farming community in Bruce County, she is not from a farm. She joined the Ripley JF club when it restarted in 2004, which has since amalgamted and become the Bruce County club. Shannon enjoys travelling and feels she has especially benefited from the opportunities within JF to experience other cultures through visiting Wales in 2006 and El Salvador in 2008.

Past President

James McMillan

Now in his final year as a JF member, James is looking to see that JFAO is left in the strongest position possible for current and future members. A JF member since joining Haldimand in 1999, James has divided the rest of his time in the organization between the Middlesex and Wentworth clubs.  He grew up on a small dairy and cash crop farm near Nanticoke. A University of Western Ontario graduate with a MA in Journalism, James is employed as a daytime television news producer in Hamilton.   He is happily married to Reese.

"There is something for everyone in the early stages of adult life in JF," James says, "whether you are looking for a local or provincial social network, help developing your leadership skills, opportunities to get involved, or simply to have a good time."

Executive Director of Membership

Justin Williams

Justin Williams is a 8th generation dairy farmer working on his family farm. He has completed his agricultural diploma at University of Guelph Kemptville Campus and has been working on his family farm for the past year. Growing up on the farm Justin experienced many JF events when he was young, he would help out in the Prince Edward JF Milkshake booth at many local events. Justin was instumental in restarting JF in Prince Edward County a few years ago and has held many positions at the club level and last year was the external 4-H rep. He looks forward to working with many JF members throughout the year and keep trying to recruit new members to this amazing organization!

Executive Director of Community & International Programs

Angie Giles

Following in the footsteps of many of her family members, Angie Giles joined JF four years ago in Lanark.  This is Angie’s second year on executive as the Executive Director of Community & International Programs. Although raised in the country, Angie did not grow up on a farm, but gained an appreciation for agriculture from family and friends. Angie received a diploma in Early Childhood Education from Loyalist College, and now works with children at the Almonte Daycare Centre.  Angie hopes to make JF members aware that many of the travel opportunities are only a couple weeks in length and by doing so encourage more members to apply.  Angie looks forward to building on her experiences from being on executive, going on exchange and being a host to create a positive experience for the international delegates and their hosts this summer.

Executive Director of Fund Development

Executive Director of Marketing

Gill Richardson

After many years on her County’s executive and after a short term as Executive Director of Membership, Gill Richardson is back as Executive Director of Marketing.  Gill has been an active JF’er for 10 years, starting off in Middlesex County and now calling Oxford County her home.  Although, Gill never grew up on a farm, her love of the country came from years of exploring her Grandparents hobby farm. In 2006, Gill was awarded the 3 month exchange to United Kingdom where she was able to gain ‘hands ‘ on experience into the life a farmer. Gill graduated with her Coaching and Applied Science diploma from Humber College and is currently the Head Coach of the Avon Thames Tsunami Aquatic Club in Stratford.  Gill is excited to be back on Executive and can’t wait to help JF Market themselves in new and exciting ways.
