Nearly 100 members of the Junior Farmers’ Association of Ontario launched celebrations of the organization’s 65th anniversary with the instalment of the 2009 executive at their annual March Conference, this year held at the Festival Inn in Stratford.

While all from rural communities, the members of the new executive have roots across the province and bring a wide range of skills from on and off the farm. This year they will work to further the mission of building future rural leaders while celebrating the achievements of those who built the organization through past decades. 65th JFAO Reunion August 15th

The 2009 JFAO executive is poised to celebrate the organization’s 65th anniversary with a reunion on August 15th at the Orangeville Fairgrounds. The day begins with a fundraising golf tournament at Hockley Valley, followed by an evening of dinner and socializing with JF friends from throughout the decades. Tickets for the dinner and dance can be reserved by calling the JFAO office at 519-780-JFAO (5326).

JFAO’s mission is “To Build Future Rural Leaders Through Self-Help and Community Betterment.” This is accomplished through providing opportunities for young people age 15-29 of all backgrounds, but especially those in rural Ontario, to take on the challenge of exploring their individual talents and potential to develop personally while being involved in bettering their communities, networking, and having fun. Today JFAO is funded solely through the support of members, donors and sponsors, including its Diamond Level partners Dairy Farmers of Ontario, OFA, and the Canadian International Farm Show.
