JFAOs annual charity golf tournament fundraiser leads off a celebration on Saturday August 15th of 65 years of leadership and networking opportunities for Ontario youth age 15-29.
The anniversary weekend celebrations tee off with a noon shotgun start at Hockley Valley Resort, followed by a reunion banquet and dance at the Orangeville Fairgrounds. A spa treatment option is being offered for those who dont wish to golf before the afternoon social time gets underway.
Were excited to be golfing at Hockley this year, says Wayne Stoltz, a JFAO member in the 1970s and Honorary Chair of the 2009 Golf Tournament. Not only are we hoping to see many familiar faces of past members attending, but its a great way to be involved in helping raise funds for this organization. Local golfers, agriculture and food industry leaders and corporate sponsors are also planning to participate in the annual tournament that raises operating funds to sustain JFAO programs.
Were expecting to see at least 400 current and former members in Orangeville this August, says Junior Farmers Association of Ontario President James McMillan. Weve had weekly phone calls and e-mail messages wanting details since plans for the reunion first began circulating in January.

JFAO provides opportunities for young people age 15-29 of all backgrounds, but especially those in rural Ontario, to take on the challenge of exploring their individual talents and potential to develop personally while being involved in bettering their communities, networking, and having fun. JFAOs mission is to build future rural leaders through self-help and community betterment.
JFAO is a registered charitable organization supported by its members, donors and corporate sponsors including the Dairy Farmers of Ontario, the Canadian International Farm Show, and the Ontario Federation of Agriculture. It is the largest organization in Ontario run for youth by youth. Past members have established themselves in successful leadership roles in a variety of fields including agriculture and government.
The fundraising tournaments early-bird deadline is July 1, with all registrations due by August 1. There are early registration incentives. Sponsorship opportunities are available for both holes and carts.
